The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra
London Philharmonic Orchestra with CBeebies' Chris Jarvis
Royal Festival Hall
Sun 03 Nov 12 noon - 1.00pm
Have you met all the instruments of the Orchestra? Do you know your trombones from your xylophones? Your clarinets from your castanets? Would you like to say ‘hello’ to a cello and maybe have a go at an oboe? Come and meet the instruments and players of the London Philharmonic Orchestra as they perform Benjamin Britten’s timeless and much-loved classic The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra in the next instalment of the LPO’s FUNharmonics family concert series, conducted by Stuart Stratford and presented by CBeebies’ Chris Jarvis.

The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra provides the perfect introduction to the Orchestra, showcasing how the various instruments sound individually and as an ensemble, in one magnificent piece of music that resonates with the young and young-at-heart alike.

Free activities before and after the concert from 10am – 2pm: Have a go at an orchestral instrument of your choice under expert instruction, join our music-making workshops in The Clore Ballroom, and grab an activity sheet and explore the nooks and crannies of Southbank Centre.
